81, of Seminole, died Friday, October 23, 2009, at Bay Pines VA Health Care System. Born in York, PA, she came here in 1960 from Lake Charles, LA. She graduated from Churchhome University with a Master's degree in Nursing. She was a United States Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. Kay worked for over 30 years at Bay Pines VA Medical Center as a registered nurse. She was a member of First Christian Church of Seminole. She enjoyed playing bingo and pinoccle. Kay most of all enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Heffner. She is survived by sons: Christopher J. Heffner, St. Petersburg, FL, Scott E. Heffner, Aurora , CO, and Lee D. Heffner, Broken Arrow, OK; daughter: Debra J. Tucker, Lancaster, PA; grandchildren: Marcus Heffner, Leigh Heffner, Denver Tucker, Taylor Tucker, Lucas Heffner, Josh Heffner, Faryn Heffner, and Nevin Heffner. There will be a gathering at the Clubhouse of Twin Oaks Condominiums-11200 102nd Ave N. at 5:30pm on Wednesday, Oct. 28th.
